Singer Shannon Noll was booed and jeered by punters after stumbling and slurring his way through his set at the CMC Rocks The Snowys festival on Saturday night.
Punters at the festival, held at the Thredbo ski resort, said Noll was “virtually incoherent” and “couldn’t stop rambling and raving on about how proud he was to be a country boy he just wasn’t making any sense”.
“It was so appallingly bad it wasn’t funny…in the end people started booing and yelling out ‘just sing’ because he was making such a fool of himself,” said the concert goer.
Another audience member, said it was obvious Noll had been drinking.
“He was repeating himself the whole time, he let the f-word go a couple of times and then apologised because there could be kids around,” she said.
“He didn’t come across as the nice country guy like you see on TV, he came across as silly and a bit slow.”
Festival organisers diplomatically told News Limited the Australian Idol runner’s antics were “interesting” and they were left in no doubt “he was very happy to be there”.
The festival included country and roots acts like the John Butler Trio, Sugarland and Gary Allan at the two day festival, held at Thredbo’s ‘Friday Flats’.
