Keegan salutes the return of the Duke

24/03/2008 7:04:00 AM.  | AAP
Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has hailed the return of Australian striker Mark Viduka.

In just his second match since coming back from injury, Viduka scored the Magpies' first goal in their 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham yesterday – Keegan’s first victory since re-joining the club in January.

England international Michael Owen scored Newcastle's second.

Viduka, who had not played for nine weeks before last week's draw at Birmingham, struck in the sixth minute, collecting Geremi’s pass from the right, turning and drilling his shot low past Fulham goalkeeper Kasey Keller.

Viduka was not named in the Socceroos squad for their World Cup qualifier against China on March 26 and has been non-committal about his international future.
