Cricketer Michael Clarke has given his fiancée Lara Bingle a 4.7 carat diamond engagement ring, for a reported $200,000.

Although the rock is yet to be seen by the public, with the 20-year-old model trying her hardest to hide it from prying eyes, after signing a $100,000 deal with New Idea magazine for exclusive photos.

Bingle hid her hand in her purse yesterday while walking through Sydney airport, as photographers swarmed in hopes to get a glimpse.

The couple are in no rush to marry, saying there will be no wedding for at least a year and children aren't in their plans for now.

"We're enjoying our engagement one day at a time, and right now we're not thinking about children," Clarke, who turns 27 tomorrow, told New Idea magazine.

Clarke proposed to Bingle at the Rockefeller Centre ice-skating rink after a horse and carriage ride through Central Park.
