Sir Michael Caine said he was so terrified by the late Heath Ledger's portrayal of the demonic Joker in 'The Dark Knight', that he forgot his lines during certain scenes.
The 75-year-old plays Bruce Wayne's butler in the film, and admits Ledger reduced him to a wreck when the pair came face to face for a scene.
"You think Jack Nicholson in the role and you can't imagine anyone topping him. Heath's just as good in another direction. He's terrifying." He said.
"The first time I saw him, we were rehearsing. He comes up in the elevator to me in Batman's flat and raids the place.
"And I hadn't seen him, I'd never met him and he comes out screaming and it's like 'wow.' I completely forgot my lines. Scary. It will frighten the life out of people."
The marketing strategy for Dark Knight has proven to be problematic for studio Warner Brothers, who are struggling to determine how to tastefully market the film without exploiting Ledger's untimely death.
