David Jones to open new Sunshine Coast store

7/05/2008 9:06:00 AM.  |
Retailer David Jones is to open a new 14,000 square metre store on Queensland's Sunshine Coast that it says will "significantly exceed" the company's minimum benchmarks for new stores.

The retailer said the new store in Maroochydore's Sunshine Plaza was expected to generate sales of $50 million - $60 million over time, exceeding benchmarks of $40 million in sales and $5 million in store contribution within two years.

The new store would be located in an area with a large catchment and attractive growth prospects, and low department store penetration, DJs said.

It would be funded by landlords and suppliers, as well as by the retailer.

The outlet would be the first new store under DJs FY09-FY12 Strategic Plan.
