12/05/2008 10:09:00 AM.  | Gil Taylor
A police officer has been injured during a pursuit through Sydney’s southwest.

At about 10 last night, Macquarie Fields police attempted to pull over a Holden Rodeo Ute for a random breath test on Harold Street.

It’s alleged the Ute accelerated past the officers, with one policeman taking evasive action.

A highway patrol car chased the Ute which did a u-turn on Macquarie Road-Ingleburn, and smashed into the police car.

A 33-year-old senior constable was taken to Liverpool hospital with minor injuries.

The pursuit continued with the Ute found abandoned in Minto.

A short time later a 40-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested and charged, they face Campbelltown local court today.
