Body washes up on Sydney's suburban shoreline

The body of a man has been found washed up on a southern Sydney beach.

Water police and officers on patrol established a crime scene at Kogarah Bay, just off Georges River, after a passerby spotted the body about 8.15am (AEST) today.

The man, believed to be in his 50s and fully clothed, was located near Vista and Endeavour streets.

Police said a post-mortem examination would be conducted to establish the exact cause of the man's death.
