Fighter plane struck by U.F.O in Romania

11/06/2008 4:14:00 PM.  | Jesse Perez

Defence chiefs in Romania are investigating claims that one of their MIG 21 fighter planes was struck by an Unidentified Flying Object.

The claims came from a leaked report revealed that the cockpit of the jet was shattered in the collision.

Romanian defence ministry officials have ruled out a collision with "normal" objects such as birds and meteorites.

In the report, Chief investigator Commander Nicolae Grigorie said: 'We can definitely say what this thing was not, but we cannot say what it was.'

The incident was recorded on an in-flight camera as the plane was flying above Transylvania.

Pilot Marin Mitrica was injured slightly but managed to land the plane after the blow.

The collision is still a mystery to defence chiefs, and the investigation has been passed on to the Security Committee of European Air Forces.

Above Transylvania ... was it Dracula? But then what would Dracula be doing flying a UFO? :-)

-Having witnessed 2 UFO's, with one of my teenaged children with me on each occasion, I can verify, without a doubt in my mind, the existence of these vehicles. Their power source is one that intrigues me most. In the 60's, in our area, one landed on a friend of mine's farm and he with his 14 yar old daughter observed the craft in all of it's illunination. He, being a very prominent, local businessman had to keep this information to himself, fearing a repercussion on his business.

It wasn't Dracula . Flying saucers are more common than you think, expect to see more of them in the coming days. I have had a number of experiences with these craft.

It could have been any one of the hundreds of objects falling into the Earth's atmosphere. The odds are more in favor of it being a meteor or some random space debris that an actual UFO from halfway across the galaxy. If it really was a UFO, why did it strike a airplane? (Was it poor piloting on the part of the alien?) How come the collision did not completely destroy the airplane altogether? (was it very small and composed entirely of nonvolatiles?) Come on people, lets not jump to the least likely conclusion first.

No-one is saying this is extra terrestrial, they are saying it was a UFO...by definition this means something (an object), that was in the air (flying) hit the plane and they have no idea what it is (unidentified). How is this news?

On Xmas eve 5 years ago, I saw a very small, bright ball of light take off about 20m from me, in the alley way behind my house. No, it wasn't fireworks, they make noise. I froze on the spot and was totally speechless and shaking. This happened at about 9pm in the inner northern Melbourne suburb of Preston. It sped away at about a 45 degree angle in total silence. Shooting stars dont return to the sky!!! Until then I was a sceptic, now i am convinced there is a greater intelligence out there.

It is a setting up of Romanian DoD. Bogus. Nothing hits the airplane. Was only a very old cannopy wich was very stressed and broken. Read the point of view of an Romanian high skill ex-pilot of MIG-21 (V.V ) : http://www.rufon.org/forum/index.php/topic,1530.90.html

Hey, people !! UFO means "Unidentified Flying Object". I repeat: it's an object that could not be identified in present. That's not means that the object is an flying saucer with aliens on board..!!!
