Angry residents promise action

A handful of North Shore residents a threatening to stop a movie starring Geena Davis from being filmed in their street.

The NSW State Government may have just made it easier to film in Sydney in a bid to boost the industry but the St Ives residents say they'll wave lights and blow bagpipes if Ku-ring-gai council approves the overnight filming schedule.

Those most inconvenienced have rejected a $500 courtesy payment.

Lincoln Road resident Nolene Macpherson says all current residents have signed a petition against the filming.

“Well the volume of people – they’re going to have 50 or 60 people – and the hours.

“We look as if we’re going to have about two or three hours sleep per night for about four days in a row and we’re not comfortable with that.”

“They’re also bringing in a lot of equipment – there’s fire engines, ambulance, police cars, taxis…”
