A Sydney father charged over a dog attack on his one-year-old son has faced court for the first time.
The 36-year-old arrived at Windsor Court, accompanied by his lawyer and a man believed to be his father. He was dressed in a suit, with his long hair tied back in a ponytail.
He's charged with maliciously causing a dog to inflict grievous bodily harm, after his one-year-old son was mauled by his two Staffordshire bull terriers at Cranebrook over the weekend.
Court documents show the little boy suffered bruising, scratches and puncture wounds, but has been cleared of head injuries.
An AVO has been taken out against the man so he cannot approach his partner or the boy - police say the couple have an extensive history of unreported domestic violence.
The case will be back before the court in August.
