Up to 300 teachers and principals are rallying in Sydney, angry over pay, conditions and controversial changes to the transfer system.
Teachers say they have no relationship with the Iemma government and have demanded the premier meet with the delegations and nut out a peace plan.
The federation says changes to the transfer system, allows schools to cherry pick staff instead of taking the next person on the list - leaving many schools short staffed and unable to attract quality teachers.
They are also angry over pay and conditions - a teacher from Condobalin has told the rally the situation is so bad some teachers are afraid to voice their concerns.
“They are unlikely to speak out because they are being bullied.”
After a strike in May the federation says industrial relation action will follow next month if the government doesn’t respond.
