Eamon Sullivan's coach says his charge has recovered better than expected from his back injury ahead of next month's Olympics.
The 50m freestyle world record holder sent a scare through the Australian Olympic swim team last Friday night in Sydney by aggravating a back problem at a key Beijing warm-up meet.
His coach Grant Stoelwinder initially feared the injury would stop the injury-prone swimmer from practicing his explosive diving action for an entire week.
However Sullivan was back diving at full tilt today.
"It is all good, touch wood, we are always touching wood," Stoelwinder said.
"It is going well and it is something that we are quite experienced at handling."
Stoelwinder said Sullivan was planning to compete in the 100m freestyle at the WA shortcourse championships at Perth's Challenge Stadium tomorrow morning.
