Police and customs have seized 850 kilograms of pseudoephedrine and made three arrests, after intercepting a shipment from Thailand.
It is estimated that the chemical, used to make the drug 'Ice', could have fetched up to $300 million dollars on the streets.
The drugs were allegedly concealed inside a range of ornaments including an elephant statue.
Catherine Asbridge from Customs says the traffickers went to great lengths in an attempt to fool authorities.
"It was quite a sophisticated concealment. It was certainly fairly hard to actually get in to find out what was inside."
Three men will face central local court on Wednesday.
