A Sydney jury has been told a woman who allegedly murdered her husband, told his best friend she never meant to kill him.
In August 2006 Chaim Kimel was stabbed in his Rose Bay home, he died later on the operating table in hospital.
His wife, Danielle Stewart, is standing trial for his murder. The court has heard she has no recollection of what happened on the night of the incident.
She has wiped away tears and sobbed openly as a letter was read out in court, allegedly written by her to her husband's best friend.
She wrote she felt ashamed, she was sorry and that she should have died instead of Chaim.
The court heard that she said she loved Chaim and she never meant him any harm.
