Public left in dark on economics of carbon trading: Turnbull

17/07/2008 10:34:00 AM.  |
The opposition says households and businesses are being asked to comment on the government's carbon trading scheme, without knowing all the economic details.

Treasury modelling won't be released until October, a month after public submissions on the government's green paper close.

Shadow Treasurer Malcolm Turnbull's told ABC radio the green paper's asking people to make submissions in total ignorance of what the Treasury thinks.

Mr Turnbull says common sense dictates the Treasury's economic model and should be published before people are asked to comment.

Yes Malcolm Turnbull is 100% correct. We have no intention of investing anymore into Australia, until this mess created by the Rudd Government becomes clear. All we see is SPIN SPIN on CRAP CRAP CRAP? Why did the Labor Government allow the public servants such a huge salary increase, when they do not listen to them. Was this a bribe to tell them to keep their mouths shut ,and do as I say? CRAP is short on structure. The Australian economy is heading into dark times. Oz is 1.3% & declining

The frightening thing about Rudd is that, according to the polls, he is still getting majority support and hence he has assumed that he has a blank cheque to do what he wants. So just like he did before the election he announces policies that affect the economy, without any economic modeling. Because he has been getting away with it he is becoming more emboldened. Good luck to all the people that need to hold on to their jobs and need reasonable interest rates and low inflation.

What a disgusting thing for Wong to say about the opposition. They were not responsible for this mess. She and Rudd are responsible for this mess: "Nothing's going to be perfect but it certainly beats sticking your head in the sand, which is what the Liberal Party has been doing for 12 years." Howard and Turnbull took major steps when in power to get this process started, not like Wong, Dudd and his mates. Where was the bipartisan support then. None, it was the usual rhetoric and no vision.

Malcom Turnbull SHOULD know by now, there is NO commonsense to be FOUND in this KRUDD govt.! KRUDD is going flat out like the TITANIC into Destruction. We're poor now, I shudder to think how I'll be reclassed later? "Much poorer" seems wrong, because if you dont have now, what is it exactly we loose?(my family). The next thing to cut from the budget, for decent survival is RENT?/Elct/Comms/clothing or FOOD? We had to stop driving? We wonder just what else this mans GOVT. wants from us? BLOOD?
