A karaoke club in the Finnish town of Kouvala has set a new world record for non-stop karaoke singing.

The session lasted for 446 hours, 4 minutes and 5 seconds - or more than 18 days - beating the previous record of 214 hours held by a Chinese club, Finnish news agency STT reported.

The event was staged at the Karaoke Club Kouvola in Kouvala, some 135 kilometres north-east of Helsinki.

The record attempt began on July 2 as part of the Karaoke Festival and Marathon 2008.
