Italians pay to perform executions

23/07/2008 9:05:00 PM.  | AAP
Visitors to a Milan funfair are reportedly lapping up the chance to perform a mock execution, watching as a highly life-like dummy shakes and grimaces in an electric chair.

Italian newspaper La Repubblica says the attraction at the funfair at Idroscalo in the east of the city is similar to one in Las Vegas in the US.

For one euro ($1.63) visitors can watch the half-naked mannequin tremble and convulse, its hair burning whilst strapped in the chair.

The images have been shown shown on news channel Sky24.

La Repubblica quotes the manager of the funfair as saying there are about 50 executions a day with 150 on Sunday.
