23/07/2008 7:26:00 PM.  | Gil Taylor
Veteran ABC journalist Peter Lloyd has been released on bail after being charged with drug offences in Singapore.

The 41-year-old was arrested earlier this month for allegedly trafficking 1gm of methamphetamine, or ice. He faces a second charge of possession.

Lloyd faced court for just ten minutes today and has been released after a friend posted a surety of $45,000.

The Australian journalist is to remain in Singapore and report to the narcotics bureau three times a week.

If convicted, the New Dehli based reporter faces 20 years jail and up to 15 lashes with a cane.
