Minnesota police have been left red faced after losing a suspect in a first-degree armed burglary case - despite contacting the man's mobile phone.
Fox News reports Minnesota detectives were set to arrest Grayson Clevenger for burglary on Tuesday, but were unable to when a man matching his description sped away in a stolen Dodge Durango.
The chase then spanned multiple states, as Clevenger drove briefly into Wisconsin and back to Minnesota, before he eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Detectives then tried calling Clevenger, who answered his cell phone saying, "Dude, I can't talk, I'm being chased by the police," and then hung up.
He remains at large.
