Brangelina sign photo deal for twins

4/08/2008 9:26:00 AM.  | AAP
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have struck a deal for the first photos of their newborn twins in an exclusive expected to raise several million dollars, it has been reported.

US celebrity magazine People announced its "world exclusive" deal on its website, saying photos of the babies would be released at 2300 GMT on Sunday (0900 AEST Monday).

A spokeswoman for People confirmed the magazine had secured US rights for the photos and that British glossy Hello! had won international rights.

No further information was available.

Pitt and Jolie's twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, have not been glimpsed by the outside world since they were born at a hospital in Nice, in the south of France, on July 12.

The regional French newspaper Nice-Matin reported last month that the first photo of the baby celebrities had been sold for $US11 million ($A11.69 million) and that the money would be given to a humanitarian cause.

Pitt, 44, and Jolie, 33, were reported to have received $US5 million ($A5.32 million) for the first pictures of their first biological daughter, Shiloh, in June 2006, which the power couple also donated to charity.
Media analysts have speculated the first pictures of the twins could fetch twice the amount raised for the photos of their older sister two years ago.

As well as their biological brood, Pitt and Jolie are also parents to three adopted children, Maddox, six, born in Cambodia; four-year-old Pax, born in Vietnam; and Zahara, three, born in Ethiopia.
