Car hoons face having their tyres clamped for three months as part of a crackdown on street racing.
Police have called for tenders from businesses willing to clamp the wheels of cars involved in street racing, under new legislation passed last year.
Under the changes hoons will have their car tyres clamped immediately, or once they've returned the car home, for a period of three months.
Liverpool and Wollongong are expected to be the first regions to participate in a trial of the laws.
The tough measures follow others introduced over the weekend which saw streets in the Rocks shut down to the public on Friday and Saturday night to stop hoons from causing menace there.
