Hollywood has been set ablaze with Dark Knight Fever, but there is talk of a fever of a different kind - a strange phenomenon being called "The Dark Knight curse".
The phrase has been coined following the hospitalization of Dark Knight Actor Morgan Freeman, whose car flipped several times in Mississippi, and left him in a serious condition.
Freeman's accident follows a recent incident where Christian Bale was arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister in an argument at a London Hotel.
Shadowing these recent events was the death of actor Heath Ledger in January - an event which unwillingly brought major attention to the film.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton recently wrote regarding the spooky co-incidence:
“What's next? Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine and the rest of them all better be careful!”
While the buzz is pure speculation, and some may say, superstitious hokey pokey, it does reflect several other cases in Hollywood where “curses” plagued production and the lives of cast and crew.
Famous cases include Brandon Lee’s “The Crow”, where the actor son of Bruce Lee was accidentally killed on set, and Steven Speilberg’s “Poltergiest”, where four actors from the film, including child star Heather O’Rourke, died within a six-year period.
