US state enforces four-day work week

A state in America is offering its employees a four day work week in a revolutionary idea to help beat high energy costs.

Utah governor John Huntsman says the program proves governments can be creative and fast on their feet.

“They can actually do things to make a more hospitable work environment, a better quality of life, better serve the customers and be mindful of one’s carbon footprint and energy needs all at the same time.”

Governor Huntsman says the state will trial the four day work week for a year.

Although the week is shorter, the days will be longer with workers extending the day to 10 hours.
