Australian arrested over sex allegations in Bali

7/08/2008 8:00:00 PM.  |

An Australian man has been detained on sex allegations on the Indonesian resort island of Bali.

Bali police spokesman I Made Sudirsa said 61-year-old Phillip Robert Granfield, a retired accountant, was arrested this morning at his villa at Buleleng, in the island's north.

He is alleged to have sexually harassed two teenage boys, aged 16 and 18, and was arrested following a report from a relative of one of the alleged victims, Sudirsa said.

One of the alleged victims recorded an incident on his mobile phone, he said.

After repeated incidents since March this year the man gave the teenagers 25,000 rupiah in cash as a gift, he said.

"It is still in the interrogation process," Sudirsa said.

Ummmm, well I guess 25,000 rupiah was not nearly enough. He should have made it 100,000 rupes. Live and learn.
