The Beijing Water Cube aquatic centre has been given the all-clear after a security scare this afternoon, just one day out from the Opening Ceremony.
The facility was placed into lock-down for around half-an-hour
But Reporter Matthew Hill says it appears to have been a false-alarm.
"I walked straight in, first thing I saw was the divers practising and also the synchronised swimmers were in the pool. The music was playing and nothing was untoward, nobody looked worried.
"Walked outside, there was a little bit of military presence. I thought, 'This might be a problem area', but I saw they were taking pictures of each other. So no-one was concerned at all."
During the lock-down Mark Levy told LIVENEWS.com.au that reporters were being turned away from the aquatic centre.
"There is quite a strong police presence and army presence, which isn't unfamiliar in Beijing.
"It's just precautionary at this stage. We're being directed to go away from so they can do their investigations."
