One of the members of the satirical ABC TV Chaser crew has called on Olympic athletes to stage political protests in the coming days.
Julian Morrow was part of last year's famous APEC prank, which saw a fake terrorist motorcade infiltrate heavy security.
He's told the ABC's Q and A program, he thinks of the Olympics as an opportunity for people to make a symbolic act of defiance.
Morrow says IOC rules prohibiting athletes from making political statements are a disgrace.
He's revealed the Chaser crew had contemplated attending the Beijing Olympics to stage a protest, but says they only do stunts where it's completely safe.
