David Beckham was involved in a heated shoving match along with several players in the aftermath to the Los Angeles Galaxy's 2-2 draw with Chivas USA in Major League Soccer.

Alan Gordon headed in a goal in injury time to secure a point for the Galaxy, with players becoming involved in a brief skirmish at midfield shortly after the game.

Beckham was involved in the incident, with players shoving each other exchanging words. No punches were thrown.

Landon Donovan opened the scoring in the eighth minute for Los Angeles.

Beckham made several pinpoint passes to set up chances over the course of the game and, in the end, Cobi Jones got a tie in his debut as the Galaxy's interim coach.

Atiba Harris found the equaliser for Chivas USA in the 50th minute off a pass from Paulo Nagamura, then and reciprocated by setting up Nagamura's goal in the 63rd that made it 2-1.

Chivas played the final 10 minutes of regulation time with just 10 players after midfielder Jesse Marsch was injured and his team already had used its three substitutions.

Both sides played hard before an appreciative sellout crowd of 27,000 for the Chivas home game.

Beckham drew a yellow card in the 61st minute when he was running alongside Chivas' Francisco Mendoza, got tangled up and tripped him.

Earlier in the week, Dutchman Ruud Gullit resigned as Galaxy coach and president/general manager Alexi Lalas was let go.

Bruce Arena, the former U.S. national team coach who also coached in MLS for DC United and the New York Red Bulls, watched the game with president and CEO Tim Leiweke of AEG, which owns the Galaxy.

Arena resigned as coach of the Red Bulls last November after they were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs for the second year in a row.
