A 40-year-old Sydney woman caught with some of the "most horrific" images of child pornography, has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.
Suzanne McDonald appeared in the Downing Centre District Court in Sydney for sentencing today after pleading guilty to four charges.
Justice Paul Conlon said McDonald had been caught with more than 2,000 child pornographic images on her computer, and had also admitted emailing them to other people.
On a 10-point scale used to rate such images, with one the most benign and 10 the worst, they were classed as falling between eight and 10.
They included photographs of children being forcibly raped, and of bestiality.
"The offender concedes that the images fall into categories eight to 10," Justice Conlon told the court.
He said police considered the images the "most horrific and worst crime" of child pornography.
McDonald was sentenced to four and half years jail, with a non-parole period of three years.
With time already served, she will become eligible for release in December 2010.
