The program that was famously pulled live to air by late media baron Kerry Packer with the immortal words “Get that s**t off” will be aired next week, sixteen years after it was first partially broadcast.

The program, Australia’s Naughtiest Home Videos, which was hosted by then top rating radio personality Doug Mulray was controversially pulled from air in mid-telecast following an phone call from enraged Nine Network owner Kerry Packer.

The program was replaced by an episode of Cheers and Australia’s Naughtiest Home Videos was never seen again… until now.

At the time the program received a mixed response, with some viewers perplexed by its removal while others were disgusted by film clips which included a couple of noisy elephants, bare bottoms, a woman with an ample chest … and the amorous antics of two kangaroos which particularly incensed Kerry Packer.

Across the continent, Nine’s switchboards recorded thousands of viewer calls that night. In Brisbane around 80 per cent of callers were miffed that the program had been pulled, while Sydney and Melbourne reacted similarly. In Adelaide the calls were split 50-50, while the program never even made it to air in Perth due to the time difference with the east coast.

Sixteen years later, viewers can now watch the original program that caused the scandal – with a guarantee it won’t be yanked from air this time.

Australia’s Naughtiest Home Videos will air next Thursday the 28th of August at 8.30pm.
