SBW fallout: Dogs lose major sponsor

20/08/2008 8:43:00 AM.  | Nick Markham | Rugbyleaguelive.com
The fallout from the Sonny Bill Williams saga has made further inroads into the Bulldogs bottom line, with news major sponsor Mitsubishi Electric are set to end their five-year association with the club.

But Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg certainly isn't hitting the panic button.

"I believe it puts us in a position of strength," Greenberg told Fairfax, in an amazing display of glass half-full optimism.

"We've had a lot of positive feedback and support from our corporate partners for showing the strength we did and standing up for ourselves during the last few weeks."

Mitsubishi Electric stuck solid with the embattled club during the infamous Coff Harbour rape allegation scandal, along with a number of other incidents that attracted adverse publicity over the past five seasons.

SBW did this? So by walking out the DOGS say he's the problem? Are they saying thaqt over the last 5 yrs all the other rubbish that comes from the Kennel has nothing to do with it? How about the continuous drunken issues coming from them? Talk about choking the chicken people. Why not trying the Honest angle. Thats the one where you admit the club has been a bit of a cesspit lately, with management breakdown, Coach drama and players fighting the police in drunken states.

Whats goes around comes around. the players needs to look out for themselves, the player managers need to be more responsible.

who would want to put their hard earned profits into a club like the DOGS. they have been nothing but a negative for the NRL and Australian sport for the last 10 years. It all starts in the front office, and they alone should take responsibility. Go the mighty tigers.
