Jennifer Love Hewitt wishes she had spent 16 years of her life "nude".

The 'Ghost Whisperer' actress - who recently shed 18lbs after unflattering pictures of her on the beach were published - says she should have been more proud of her lithe figure when she was younger.

Jennifer, 29, said: "I wish I had been nude from the time I was 12 until I was 28. I looked great! I so wish I had listened to my mom and grandma when I was 18 and would complain about some little tiny bump or feeling bloated.

I used to scoff and say, 'No, I feel fat today!' Now the joke's on me."

The actress - who is engaged to Scottish actor Ross McCall - also revealed she has no concerns about turning 30 next February, and is actually looking forward to the milestone birthday.

She added to America's Health magazine: "I'm so excited! It's my dream age.
I don't know why but, literally since my 12th birthday I've wanted to turn 30."
