Fans of US R’n’B group JoDeci were left in a rage when told they would be refused refund after two members of the group failed to show, and singer JoJo collapsed in a fit of epilepsy.
Showtime touring refused to refund ticket price to punters at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre after the Saturday schemozzle where brothers Donald “Devante Swing” and Dalvin Degrate failed to show.
Adding to the disastrous nature of the concert was the on-stage seizure of Joel “JoJo” Hailey during the performance of their final number “All of my life”.
Speculations that the group, who surged to popularity in the early 90’s, were high on drugs during the performance, were slammed by JoJo’s brother K-Ci.
“My brother JoJo is epileptic. He has seizures, you know what I’m saying. JoJo before we got here, he told me he called me on the phone, he started to cancel the show because he had a seizure the night before we got on the plane.” He told Hot 97.
“We had to do a 20 hour flight, then went straight onto the stage.”
“People are trying to say we are on drugs. We aren’t on drugs man. When it comes time to go to work we care about our fans”.
