There's growing unrest in the Labor party, over plans to strip welfare from parents and keep the construction industry watchdog.
A coalition of unions has launched a million-dollar television campaign, calling for the Australian Building and Construction Commission to be dismantled.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has remained defiant, claiming he won't be forced into any hasty changes - but Labor backbencher Dick Adams has different ideas.
“I think it should be wound-back, and if corporate Australia doesn’t think that than maybe we should apply it to corporate Australia as well,” he said.
Meantime, there's been backlash from the ALP caucus over plans to strip welfare off parents for up to three months, if they allow their children to miss school.
One Government MP has called it "un-Laborlike", but Liberal MP Don Randall thinks it's a good move.
“If people are squandering their money and taking it down the pub or the TAB or the local casino… well, we’ve got a duty to make sure that the taxpayer’s money is spent responsibly.”
