Police left ‘humiliated’ as bikie convoy avoids breath testing

Frontline police claim they've been humiliated, after they were ordered to stand back and let a convoy of bikies break laws in northern NSW without penalty.

Assistant Police Commissioner Lee Shearer claims 200 officers deployed to the area did breath tests and other checks, but officers have told Macquarie Radio that's a lie.

Shadow Police Minister Mike Gallagher has told 2GB’s Ray Hadley the officers were told to stand back, after one of the bikies complained about being victimised.

“There are a lot of people very very filthy about the conduct of this operation, and they’re saying ‘well what happens next time?’

“Do the 300 or 400 bikies get together again, and then become quite a critical mass, and then make the same threats? ‘If you don’t leave us alone, we’ll turn up in a town and wipe it out.’”

Its obvious that police are scared of the bikies. And its all about corruption. Had it been middle eastern men doing that same thing they would of been charged with acts of terrorism lol

Mike Gallagher seems to me, to be looking for publicity by making unsubstansiated allegations. Perhaps the bikers weren't pulled over, as a matter of safety? Where would be a safe place to pull over that many bikes? Or was it because they hadn't done anything wrong?? As to the backup vehicles, perhaps ol' Mike should check his facts, as there's no way they were left alone. Just more media sensationalising. Not all bikers are criminals, you know.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, and not all birds have feathers. So what? If the majority are criminals, then they should all be treated as if they are all criminals. How is the policeman supposed to tell the criminal from non-criminal biker?? They all dress alike. I stand behind the police. Because without them, who do I stand behind, Tracey?? Huh?

About 14 of us were on a ride a few hours behind the Rebels, and we got pulled over and checked, not breath tested ,but then it was only lunchtime, noone had been drinking. Police smell alcohol, theyll test you....one of us was ticketed for a small infraction, but I think the police were fair and did their job without prejudice. BTW there's quite a lot of middle eastern men in m/c clubs these days...

Pithy not all, not majority. people have got to stop saying that. again pithy you would be upset if someone said to you that because you are a man you must be a rapist, because men rape. you get how silly and stupid your generalisation is.
