A 13-year-old from a remote Northern Territory community has been charged with a string of child sex offences including intercourse with a child under 10.
He was arrested yesterday following an investigation by the Child Abuse Taskforce, police said.
The teenager has been charged with sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10, indecent dealing with a child under the age of ten and indecently assaulting a child under the age of 16.
He was bailed to appear in the Maningrida Court in Arnhem Land on October 8, police said.
The Child Abuse Taskforce is made up of specialised staff from NT Police, NT Family and Children Services and the Australian Federal Police.
It was set up to investigate serious and complex cases of child sexual abuse, police said.
