Gillard would relish a Costello return

31/08/2008 11:00:00 AM.  |
Labor will relish the opportunity to battle former federal treasurer Peter Costello in question time again, Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard says.

For months now Mr Costello has remained coy about speculation he will change his mind and stay in parliament and possibly take over the leadership of the coalition opposition.

"I would relish the opportunity each and every day and I'm sure (Treasurer) Wayne Swan would relish it too," Ms Gillard told Network Ten on Sunday.

"There are some very clear facts about Mr Costello's track record which I'm sure we would be pointing out."
