A man aged in his 20s has been found stabbed to death in the grounds of a Canberra childcare centre after a night out at an Irish pub.
Police turned parents away from the ABC Learning Centre on Giles Street, Kingston, after the body was discovered at 7.20am (AEST) today.
They are interviewing a woman believed to have been with the man at Filthy McFaddens pub in Green Square either late last night or early this morning.
A knife was discovered near the body. It has been sent for forensic tests.
Lead investigator Detective Sergeant Jason Kennedy has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
"It is believed the deceased male and female were at Filthy McFaddens pub in Green Square, Kingston, prior to the incident taking place," he said.
"We believe they may have perhaps met at the pub."
Police are yet to confirm the man's identity.
