Student numbers are down at Sydney schools as parents opt to keep their kids at home during today's teachers strike about to get underway.
The lollipop man outside Randwick Public School has an easy job today, with most parents choosing not to bring their children to school.
Traffic along Cowper St outside is flowing freely and parking spacing usually filled by rushing parents are empty.
Teachers have walked off the job for two hours with principal Susan Allen refusing to make any comment on today’s action.
Most parents who brought their children to school have told LIVENEWS.com.au they support the teachers’ campaign on pay and transport arrangements, but have had no choice to make alternative options.
