It was foodie-heaven at Sydney’s classy Ivy Bar last night as the who’s who of NSW gastronomy turned out in force to honour the state’s finest.
Seven establishments gained the highest three-hat distinction, including perennial Sydney favourite, Tetsuya’s.
But restaurant of the year went to Quay, located in The Rocks, which has also been named Gourmet Traveller’s restaurant of the year.
“The Restaurant of the Year awards mean a great deal to us. To receive one award is an honour, to receive two is just mind-blowing,” said executive chef Peter Gilmore.
“The Quay team is thrilled to have received this recognition.”
Regional restaurants to get a two-hat gong include Pokolbin’s Rock and Blackheath’s Vulcan.
