Former Catholic priest faces 60 new sex charges

3/09/2008 6:22:00 AM.  | Laura Tunstall
A former Catholic Priest at the centre of sexual abuse claims at a private school in the State's central west has been charged with another 60 offences.

Brian Spillane was arrested in May and charged with sexually assaulting five students at St Stanislaus College in Bathurst in the 1970s and 80s.

Students allege they were abused by the 65-year-old, who was school chaplain for a number of years, during late night prayer sessions.

Police have laid an additional 60 charges against him after another eight former pupils came forward.

Spillane is due to face court again on September 15.
