But, he didn't groom a 12 year old girl. He was grooming an officer of the law posing as a 12 year old girl. Sounds like the two of them were into role playing. One gets to go to jail and the other gets to do it again and again. This kind of entrapment smells to high heaven to me. The line gets crossed when the perp actually sets up a meet and makes and attempt to see the "victim". That would be when an arrest should be made and incarceration for many years slapped on the sick perv.

I think the defining point here Pithy is that he BELIEVED he was grooming a 12 year old girl, so he showed clear intent to get up to no good with an underaged girl. I think that although it does smell of entrapment, it does keep the wierdos on their toes and may even stop a few from carrying out their sicko fantasies.

Pithy, ENTRAPMENT ??? BS....These predators troll the net , teenagers sites and childrens chat..The Police who engage in these operations are highly trained and in many cases save children from lowlife slime. I am aware their are sick individuals out there who actually do role play the part of children in their twisted fantasies, but this was a Police Operation. They would have been monotoring this predator before making contact with him. If he was "entrapped" Bloody good thing, one less of them

There is a difference between entrapment and what these internet cops do. They sit online pretend to be a child & wait for a freak to approach them, they do not approach people. Same with pretending to be a prostitute, & waiting for a person to approach - there is no difference. Same with importing baby powder, but you think its heroin (becasue the police swapped it) - you will still be guilty of importing heroin. Theres no difference.

Pithy we have had special Police Operations monitoring and capturing peodophiles for as many years now as you have. In fact Australian Police Operations were the ones who recently uncovered and had arrested a world wide peda ring on the net. They NEVER contact these slime, they wait for the low lives to contact them...after , in some cases, many months of monitoring their internet activities. Any one who stops these child predators in their tracks, are ridding us of the lowest life forms.

Susan, have you ever gone to these little chat sites where these so-called innocent little girls hang out?? You would be freaked out at how agressive they are. I went to see for myself and scooted out of there in less than 2 minutes. 12F this and 13F that were not hinting at what they wanted to chat about. The came right out and were quite explicit. I was aghast. My wife on the other computer was flabbergasted, as well. I got out of there fast. And, I am no prude, I tell you. Try it.
