Peugeot to launch new hybrid

4/09/2008 9:53:00 AM.  |
Peugeot plans to present a four-door coupe concept study, the RC 508, with green hybrid drive at the Paris Motor Show in October.

Teaser images released by the carmaker show a design with headlights integrated into the fenders and the Peugeot lion logo taking a prominent position in the centre of the front grille.

According to the French carmaker, the RC concept will also showcase a hybrid drivetrain.

No details have been revealed, but some reports say it will offer full electric drive in addition to a combination of petrol and electric system with a power output of up to 223 kW/313 hp while emitting only 109 grammes of carbon dioxide per kilometre. In full electric mode the car has zero emissions.

Developed by Peugeot's own designers, the coupe appears to be an evolution of the 908 RC which was revealed at the show two years ago.
