Guidelines for camps and school excursions in South Australia will be reviewed after a primary school student was forced to undress and was photographed by two men during a class sleepover.
The incident, confirmed by police and education officials, occurred at a school in the state's south-east earlier this year.
It involved two men who were waiting in some toilets when the girl got up during the sleepover.
They threatened her and made her take off her clothes before taking photographs.
The men were still at large.
Acting Education Minister Jay Weatherill said: "Any incident of this nature is disturbing".
"The education department's extensive guidelines for camps, excursions and sleepovers were updated only last year and set out stringent requirements for safety and supervision of students," Mr Weatherill said.
"In light of this recent incident, however, our school care centre will revisit these to ensure they are adequate and understood by all school principals."
Opposition education spokesman David Pisoni said a public warning should have been issued with a recommendation to all schools about how to prevent such incidents.
