The FBI has searched the apartment of a university student, suspecting he may responsible for hacking into Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin's email account.
20-year-old David Kernell is the son of Democratic Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell, and so far the main suspect in the investigation.
The hacker’s IP address was traced back to Kernell’s apartment.
The FBI searched the residence, breaking up a party – witnesses say Kernell and friends fled when the agents arrived.
The FBI spent nearly two hours at the apartment, taking photos.
Kernell and his three roommates have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury this week.
His father Mike Kernell insists he knew nothing about the scandal.
"I had nothing to do with it, I had no knowledge or anything," he told AP last week.
"I was not a party to anything of this nature at all. I wasn't in on this, and I wouldn't know how to do anything like that."
