Aussie dollar to be at 47 cents by June

25/11/2008 11:53:00 AM.  | AAP
The Australian dollar could hit an all-time low of 47 US cents by the middle of next year.

That's the word from French bank BNP Paribas, in its latest global outlook report.

It says the Aussie will plunge from its present level of 65 US cents by the June quarter of 2009, as the economies of our main trading partners slow and export demand softens.

BNP Paribas also expects an Australian economic growth rate of close to zero in 2009, but says Australia's likely to be spared from recession.

How come all these Banks and other so called experts, that are forecasting all this gloom and doom, could not forecast their own problems before it happened? The World economy is struggling because of the Banks. They took risks that ruined the economy and now they don't want to take risks that will save the economy-pathetic

Well said Desmond. How can we take them seriously in regards to forecasting anything to do with economics, unless this was all planned and they are giving us a heads up on the script. Possible??

Desmond: I totally agree with you. These so called Highly paid Banking Economic Gurus not only didn't see it coming they caused it.Their Financial advice is only fit for wiping your A*SE with.My mate went to a Seminar a couple of years ago and the ANZ Economic Guru was speaking,Lucky my mate didn't follow his advice or he would have gone belly up.
