Chris Rogers put Western Australia to the sword for the third time in six days as Victoria surged to a four-wicket victory in the Ford Ranger Cup clash at the WACA Ground on Wednesday night.
Rogers, who walked out on the Warriors at the end of last season, followed up his twin centuries in the Bushrangers' Sheffield Shield victory with a match-winning 75 off 85 deliveries to help lift Victoria past WA's 6-263 with nine balls to spare.
The Bushrangers finished at 6-265, with Cameron White (54), Rob Quiney (42 off 40 balls) and Andrew McDonald (38 not out) also playing vital roles in the win.
Luke Ronchi was the saviour in the Warriors' innings, smashing an unbeaten 80 off just 64 balls after the WA had slumped to 5-123 in the 31st over.
Victoria made a blazing start to their run chase, peeling off 60 runs from the first 10 overs as Quiney threw caution to the wind.
His dismissal at the hands of Marcus North (2-42) sparked a collapse of 3-26 as Brad Hodge (three) and David Hussey (six) fell to David Bandy's medium pacers.
But it proved only a minor hiccup as Rogers (12 fours) and White combined for a 77-run partnership to help steady the ship before McDonald, who was dropped by Trent Kelly when on nine, steered the visitors home.
Earlier, Ronchi smashed eight fours and two sixes and combined with Aaron Heal (43 not out from 34 balls) in an unbeaten 102-run stand to help guide WA out of early trouble.
Ronchi, who entered the match with scores of just 0, 0, 14 and two under his belt, looked shaky early on and received a life on 10 when spinner White dropped a sharp return catch off his own bowling.
The grassed chance proved costly for the Bushrangers as Ronchi, who came in at No.7 instead of his customary opening role, and Heal cracked 90 runs off the final 10 overs to haul WA to the competitive total.
The win sees Victoria (17 points) leapfrog Tasmania (14) to the top of the Ford Ranger Cup table, with WA (12 points) in third spot.
The Bushrangers also head the Sheffield Shield table.
