Transport bosses are racing to solve more problems which threaten to de-rail the yet to be opened Epping to Chatswood rail line.
The problem lies in the way the tracks have been attached to 19 kilometres of concrete on the $2.3 billion line.
According to the NSW Government commissioned assessment, the glue is faulty, wrongly tensioned bolts and clips have been used, and sleepers are cracked.
But Transport Minister David Campbell says they received the report in March, and have been working on the problems ever since.
"All of the advice I have is that any issues have been identified, have been repaired or are in the process of being rectified, and that it won't delay the opening of the Epping to Chatswood rail line."
The construction company is believed to have been told to pay for repairs, but RailCorp employees are so concerned about long-term maintenance they're developing their own solution.
It comes less than a month after revelations noise levels inside trains are equivalent to a Boeing 737 coming in to land.
