Britney Spears is taking another stab at a comeback.
Of course, "comeback" is a relative term for someone who has been in the spotlight constantly for months - but for all the wrong reasons.
Britney: For The Record is being billed as a 90-minute documentary that allows Spears to tell her side of the story in her own words," says MTV.
It includes a behind-the-scenes look at how she made her new CD, Circus, and a perspective of what it's like to be Spears these days.
With what appears to be a stronger relationship with her children and a lower personal profile, Spears is poised to be taken more seriously as an entertainer.
For The Record is one way Spears can readjust her image from being a tabloid star to a serious recording artist.
MTV says For The Record took three months to make, and no topics were off-limits.
So far, Spears' return has been met with great success. The first single from Circus - Womaniser - made the biggest leap to No 1 in Billboard magazine's Hot 100 history, moving up more than 90 spaces in a week.
For The Record is Spears' first major push for the CD, being hailed as her return to form.
Undoubtedly the CD will premiere high on the charts.
How high it remains after the first week will be its true test.
For The Record is certainly an attempt to improve upon a broken public image.
