One man dead, one fights for his life

A man is dead and another is fighting for his life in hospital following a crash involving a p-plater on the state's mid-north coast overnight.

Its believed a Hyundai with three men on board was driving through Bonny Hills when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The P-plate driver was trapped for a period of time before being freed and taken to hospital where he is in a serious condition.

One of the passengers died at the scene whilst the other was also taken to hospital.
