Two die in Broome truck explosion

Police are still at the scene of a truck explosion in Western Australia which has left two men dead.

The blast happened at an industrial area at Broome, in WA's north, at about 3pm (AEDT) on Monday.

The men were loading the truck with a pressurised powder material when it exploded.

Police said one man was believed to be a local while the other came from interstate.

It was not yet known what caused the blast but the men appeared to be standing next to the truck when it happened, police said.

WorkSafe officers also attended the scene, along with police.
